Graduate Mentor Program
The Division of Diversity Academic Support has a graduate mentoring program for underrepresented population students (students with disabilities, first generation college and graduate students, etc.) at Oklahoma State University. This is intended to be a collaborate effort with students, Alumni, the Graduate College, OSU Career Services, and other relevant campus organizations.

Goals

  • To enhance underrepresented students' academic and professional development 
  • To promote high achievement and leadership skills 
  • To assist students with their academic and professional skills
  • To enhance the recruitment, retention, and graduation of underrepresented students

Objectives

  • Utilize faculty expertise for the professional and personal development of underrepresented graduate students 
  • Help match students with mentors 
  • Organize seminars on diverse topics like thesis and dissertation writing, research, assistantship opportunities, housing, time management (financing graduate studies), plan of study, committee setting, professional memberships, non-academic mentorship programs, and being competitive in your field 
  • Provide and disseminate information through seminars and email newsletters 
  • To develop a mentoring program of graduate - undergraduate students
